As we enter December, we continue our journey through the pre-Christmas season (the Nativity Fast) towards the Great Feast of Lord’s Nativity in the Flesh, commonly known as Christmas Day, December 25. December is full of important moments in our journey to Nativity. Here are some highlights coming up in the month:
- Regular Events:
- Our 930am Sunday Liturgy continues to be our main service and point of contact for regulars and visitors. A Fellowship Hour with light lunch always follows this service.
- Our 630pm Saturday Vigil is offered every Saturday evening. One priest (sometimes more) is always available to hear Confessions afterwards.
- Our 630pm Wednesday Vespers & Catechesis (Christian Education) & 820pm Small Compline with Confession is a feature each Wednedsay night leading up to Christmas. All are welcome!
- Special Events only in December:
- Feast of the St. Nicholas with Great Vespers at 630pm Thursday, Dec. 5–following by our annual Visit with St. Nicholas (this year a full Musical) & Liturgy at 9am Friday, Dec. 6.
- Nativity Fast Retreat @ St. Michael’s Orthodox Church in Louisville on December 7 with Bishop James of Sonora.
- Feast of St. Herman of Alaska with Great Vespers at 630pm Thursday, Dec. 12 & Liturgy at 9am Friday, Dec. 13.
- Nativity Forefeast Services will be each day from December 20 up through Christmas Day itself (actually there will be services every day from December 20-29!) See the calendar below for full pre-Nativity and Christmas Services.
