Our Fall Lecture Series got off to a grand start with Part 1 of our series, given by Architect Thomas Smith of Lexington, on Wednesday evening, September 24. In presenting his multimedia talk on Orthodox Architecture, Thomas was able to draw not only from his rich experience worshiping in the Orthodox Church, but also from his detailed knowledge of both secular and Christian architecture. Part 2: Encountering the Kingdom in Worship
On Wednesday evening, October 15th at 7:30pm, we welcome Reader Gregory Ealy as he speaks about Orthodox Christian worship. Gregory is a full-time choir director at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral 
(OCA) in Chicago, one of the great historic Orthodox churches in America. Gregory, the son of an Orthodox priest, received his Master in Divinity and Master in Liturgical Music from St. Vladimir’s Seminary in Crestwood, NY (see www.svots.edu) in 2007. He will take us on a tour of the riches of our Orthodox musical heritage, including the ancient chants of Orthodox Christians and their significance in ushering us into the presence of God.
Gregory’s talk at 7:30pm will follow our evening worship service called Vespers (6:30pm). We welcome everybody to come explore the riches of Orthodox worship with us–both by praying it and by learning about it!
