This Saturday, November 5, St. Athanasius is opening up its parish hall to host a Benefit Dance for the Jessamine County Food Pantry. Our community food pantry, bringing together over a dozen churches and many local benefactors, has faithfully served the hungry in our county since 2003. At present, the JCFP is expanding its facilities at 104 S. 2nd Street, just behind Nicholasville Christian Church, in order to meet the increased needs of our local people. The leadership of the JCFP is particularly excited because this means that, for the first time, the pantry will be able to offer “client choice,” in which families are able to select the foods that they actually need and will use!
The Benefit Dance will feature:
- a $10 per person/$20 per family entry donation to the JCFP (cash, check, or paypal donation)
- a family-friendly DJ and dance floor
- drinks (soft-drinks, beer, and wine) offered for donation (cash or check to JCFP)
- a “bring your own” desserts and dish approach with tables and chairs set up
If you are not able to come to the Benefit Dance, but wish to support the work of the Jessamine County Food Pantry, please visit the pantry’s donation page and give generously! Also, check out the Benefit Dance Facebook Event Page and share it out with your local friends! Directions to the church hall can be found here.
