40-Day Nativity Fast Begins on Tuesday the 15th. This blessed season of preparation for Christmas is also known as St. Philip’s Fast or Advent. Although not as penitential or strict as Great Lent, it is a reminder to engage in moderate denial of our passions and appetites and to prepare our hearts for the Coming of our Lord.
