Today’s Readings: 2 Corinthians 6:1-10 Luke 5:1-11
Annual Parish Meeting Today – Immediately following Liturgy we will setup chairs in the nave for our meeting. There is no PreK class today. Adults will remain in the nave while children go to the parish hall and eat pizza—childcare is provided. The purpose of this meeting is to approve the 2017-18 budget, elect 2 new council members, and review our parish ministries. After the meeting is adjourned, we will have our fellowship in the parish hall.
Fr. Justin Begins a “New Catechesis” Series in our weekly Christian Education class held every Wednesday at 7:20pm following 6:30pm Vespers. This new series is based upon the classic, These Truths We Hold Catechism. This 12-Part series will continue each Wednesday through December (excepting Thanksgiving). In part 1, Fr. Justin will introduce the Orthodox Church, review the lives and missionary work of the 12 apostles and lesser apostles, some of the early church fathers, the persecutions, and Ecumenical Councils. We invite not only newcomers and catechumens to attend, but also interested laity and (especially!) the youth. This series will give you a solid foundation in Orthodox teaching!
