Today’s Readings: 1Timothy 4:9-15 Luke 19:1-10
Today is Zacchaeus Sunday, the first of five Sundays beginning our preparation for Great Lent on February 19. Also, today is National Sanctity of Human Life Day (the Sunday closest to the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade). Divine Liturgy will include Petitions & Moleben for Life to help us lift up our prayers for those affected by abortion specifically, and more broadly the degradation of human life.
Feast for St. Xenia of Petersburg will be observed with a Moleben on Wednesday the 24th at 9am. She is something of a patron for those who are seeking employment or struggling with mental health issues. We will include petitions for those concerns in the Moleben.
Great Vespers will be served that evening at 6:30pm, and the Christian Education Class will continue with Part II, “The Arena,” by Bishop Ignatius (Brianchaninov).
