In August 2012, Saint Athanasius Orthodox Church purchased a 2.24-acre lot located northeast of Lime Lane between Peachtree Street and Village Parkway in Nicholasville, Kentucky. [Pictures and Directions] The property is in the Orchard subdivision adjacent to Walmart. Over the course of three years, we reviewed dozens of Jessamine County properties before finding this one. Our parish dug even deeper roots here in Nicholasville itself and came to realize we belonged in a central place in town.
In the summer of 2013, we broke ground to begin the first phase of our building project. See our Building Campaign and Building News for more information. Thanks be to God, in late July 2014 we moved to this new property from our rental space chapel at 926 S. Main St. in Nicholasville.
