This coming Wednesday evening at 6:30pm, our parish remembers the tragedy of 9/11 in the only way we know how—with an Orthodox memorial service for the departed (a Panikhida). Following this classic service for remembering the departed, Fr. Justin Patterson will give a talk on Death & Dying: an Orthodox Perspective. In this talk, which is open to the public, Fr. Justin will explore not only the Orthodox Church’s rich tradition of praying for the departed, but also how Orthodox Christians discern meaning in the face of death.
