Pan Orthodox Service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 6:30pm at St. Andrew Antiochian Orthodox Church in Lexington September 1 is the beginning of the Orthodox liturgical year and since 1989 has been observed as the Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation by the Orthodox Church. In 2015 Pope Francis called for Roman Catholics to join in Christian unity with the Orthodox Church in observing September 1 as a World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation.
