Sunday of the Holy Myrrhbearing Women with the Noble Joseph
Today we commemorate the Holy Myrrhbearing women: Saints Mary Magdalene, Mary (the wife of Clopas), Joanna, Salome (mother of the sons of Zebedee), Martha and Mary (sisters of Lazarus), and also Saint Joseph of Arimathea, and Nicodemus. These women and men are celebrated as the first witnesses of the Lord’s Resurrection.
Feast Day for Holy Great Martyr George is Monday, April 23. His martyrdom (April 23, 303AD) will be honored with an Akathist at 11am Monday.
Vespers will be served on Wednesday, April 25 at 6:30pm, the Feast of Apostle & Evangelist Mark, (a wine/oil day). Following our weekly Christian education class resumes with a new series: “The Holy Ones.”
