Palm Sunday –  Entrance Into Jerusalem

Today’s Readings: Phil. 4:4-9 John 12:1-18

Today, on the the Feast of the Entry into Jerusalem, we receive into the Orthodox Faith through Chrismation, Josh Bertram; John & Devon Lindsay, their daughters, Maura, Erin, Daisy, and their son, James who will be Baptized. On Holy Saturday at the Vesperal Liturgy Garrett Sinard will be Baptized. Welcoming gift baskets are on the table in the conference room. Many Years to all!

The Services of Bridegroom Matins introduces us to Holy Week. Beginning Palm Sunday evening through Holy Wednesday evening, we are challenged to ponder the coming of the Lord and our lack of preparation to meet Him. Service is at 6:30pm and lasts ~1 & 1/2 hours. On Sunday the service will be in Berea at 5pm at Danforth Chapel. If you would like to carpool, please see Fr. Justin.

Hours with reading of the Gospel of St. John will begin at 9am on Holy Monday and Holy Tuesday (services lasts 2-3 hours). Those who cannot attend are encouraged to read the Gospel at home as part of their Holy Week preparation.

Final Presanctified Liturgy will be Wednesday at 11:30am.

Vesperal Liturgy of the Mystical Supper will begin at 3pm on Holy Thursday. At this time we commemorate the Last Supper and enter into the eternal mystery of it, which is the Eucharist (lasts 2 hours). After Liturgy we will share a Lenten soup & salad meal (online signup available at SignupGenius.com).

Matins with the 12 Passion Gospels begins at 6:30pm on Holy Thursday. This is one of the most powerful services in all of Orthodox Holy Week (lasts 3 hours).
