July 4th will be kept in our church with special prayers for our nation as part of the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, July 5. After Liturgy, the celebration will continue with a July-4th-style potluck. (See online sign-up!) Augmenting this celebration will be an inflatable slide for the children to enjoy during and after the potluck. (This inflatable was a bonus inflatable we did not use as part of our Open House last fall because of inclement weather.)

Our Weekly Tuesday Moleben at 11am will be served with special petitions relating to the historic Our Lady of Sitka Icon. If you have a copy of this icon, please let Fr. Justin know so that we might pray this Moleben before the Sitka icon.

Vespers served at 6:30pm on Wednesday, July 8. The Christian Education class this evening will be a workshop led by Fr. Justin on making the Prosphora for Holy Communion.

Friday Matins at 8am followed by Confessions.

Our July Parish Council Meeting is slated to be held on Thursday, July 16, at 7:30pm. Our meetings are generally open to the parish community.

Upcoming Christian Education Topics

  • July 12 — Russian Movie “Leviathan”
  • July 22 — Prophet Ezekiel’s Work & Example
  • July 29, August 12 & 19 — Resurrectional Gospel Readings
  • August 26 — What is Orthodoxy? (Orthodox History & Doctrine)
  • September 2 — What is Orthodoxy? (Orthodox Worship & Values)

The last 2 are designed as seeker-friendly offerings. Invite friends! All are welcome.

Welcome Guests & Visitors! If this is your first time visiting with us, please let our greeter or doorkeeper know so we can recognize you at the end of Liturgy. We are happy you are here and will gladly answer any questions you may have about our service. Holy Communion is open to all baptized Orthodox Christians who have fasted from food and water since midnight, had recent confession, and are at peace with neighbors.

2015 Capital Campaign Update Going Out Many of our parishioners will recall that we launched a Capital Campaign back in 2011 to raise money for our current church. With the celebration of Ss. Peter & Paul Feast, we are now entering the fifth and final year of this original campaign. While we have not emphasized this capital campaign over this past year (preferring to focus on the importance of tithing), we are nonetheless in the process of sharing updates with every donor to our building fund Capital Campaign. This update should include both the original pledge and money given “to date.” If you have any questions about this see Fr. Justin or Christopher Naughton, our treasurer. If you are new to our parish and would like to make a year-long commitment for this final year of the campaign, please let Fr. Justin know! We value everyone’s help and could really use it as we grow into our mortgage.
