St. Nicholas Eve and Day 2015

December 8, 2015 Featured

St. Nicholas Weekend 2015 began with the decoration of the Nave Saturday morning (Dec. 5). After Vespers, St. Nicholas himself visited our children, telling stories of his life, giving them festal treats, and sitting with them for photos. The next morning, on the feast itself, our parish welcomed 5 people into the communion of the Orthodox Church, just prior to the St. Nicholas Liturgy. Later in the day, Fr. Justin prayed the 1st day prayers over the newborn son of Lovell and Vera Foushee (born on St. Nicholas Eve) and presided at an Akathist to St. Nicholas for students at Berea College.
