Pentecost / Feast of the Holy Trinity
Today’s Readings: Acts 2:1-11 John 7:37-52; 8:12
Kneeling Vespers for Pentecost will follow immediately after Liturgy today. In the Church’s annual liturgical cycle, Pentecost is “the last and great day.” It is the “birthday” of the Church as the presence among us of the Holy Spirit, of the new life in Christ, of grace, knowledge, adoption to God and holiness.
Vacation Church School will be held in Lexington at the Greek Orthodox Church Monday, June 5 – Friday June 9 from 9am til noon. Registration begins at 8:30am on Monday.
“The Meaning of Pentecost” is the topic of the weekly Christian Education Class that follows Vespers beginning at 6:30pm on Wednesday, June 7. All are welcome to come and learn more about this special celebration of the liturgical cycle.
