In our parish, it feels that by September, church life returns to “school year” normal. Sunday School resumes (in our parish on Sept. 18) and programming of various sorts picks back up along with the Great Feasts of the Nativity of the Virgin (Sept. 8) and the Exaltation of the Cross (Sept. 14.) Among the most important events happening this month:
- our Annual Parish Meeting 2022 on Sunday, September 11 immediately after the Liturgy (lasting usually about 45 minutes.) All members are asked to attend and even catechumens and serious visitors are encouraged to attend as observers. Childcare and lunch is provided for all. Full info on this meeting with all materials needed to participate are here (same as above.)
- our Annual KY Orthodox Campout 2022 being held once again in the Corbin area from Friday, Sept. 23 through Sunday, Sept. 25. We will be having services at the campground and will be welcoming Fr. Stephen Freeman who will be leading a Sunday service for us! You can check out the full campout info here and get more info from our leader Josh Lourie here.
- we are also rolling out this month our Forward in Faith Capital Campaign. Stay tuned for more information on our vision and goals for this campaign as we seek to be faithful to God to guide our parish life to the next level.
Please look at our September calendar (at right) and our October calendar (just below that.) You can also review our full online google calendar and even import that calendar into your personal calendar. Note the many rich feast days that fall during the months of August and September, as well as various interesting educational events on Wednesday nights and other social and outreach events that pepper our calendar. At any rate, we welcome YOU to visit our warm and inviting parish family. We also invite those along I-75 south of Nicholasville to visit our daughter mission, St. Nina, meeting twice a month in Berea, KY. (Explore the mission here or on Facebook.)
