October: Parish Life in the Fall

September 30, 2021 Featured

October is a relatively quiet month in the life of the Orthodox Church, following one of the busiest months of the year–September! In the photos below, you can get a glimpse into our rich parish life in the month of September, full of great memories including:

  • two Great Feasts (Nativity of Virgin & Cross Exaltation)
  • growth in our new mission, St. Nina Orthodox Mission Station in Berea
  • many visitors for our semi-annual Visitors Sunday, on Sept. 12,
  • resumption in our various college ministries (OCF) and launching of robust young adult fellowship
  • Youth Group and Girls Group being back in full swing
  • 45+ parishioners went to the 2nd Annual KY Orthodox Campout (Sept. 18-19)
  • rebooting our Wed. night Intro to Orthodoxy Catechesis Series
  • holding a New Members Banquet for our many new members over past 18 months
  • hosting our diocesan-mandated Annual Parish Meeting on Sept. 26. (All reports/info here.)
  • beginning Children’s Sunday School on Oct. 3 (get info here register here)
  • restarting Adult “Sunday School” virtually (by request!)
    • Adult SS is recorded with live participation via Zoom at 8pm every Tuesday (join conversation with this link.) The recording is also available on our parish YouTube channel

We invite you to visit our parish for any of our services or events. We love having visitors and you can learn more (if you are a first-time visitor) by exploring this welcome page.  Check out the many parish events on our calendar (on the right) or via the google calendar link. While “online” is no substitute for “in-person,” feel free to watch our services and weekly Christian Education classes online. If you have any questions about church life, please reach out to the church office or our priest, Fr. Justin (859-361-2823.)
