The Warmth of Pentecost

May 31, 2023 Featured

The parish is heading into the summer months of June and July. The month of June, in particular, stands out because of the Great Feast of Pentecost, our annual Vacation Church School for kids, and the reflective season of the Apostles’ Fast–which leads directly to one of our most ancient and festive commemorations in the Church, the Feast of the Holy Apostles Peter & Paul on June 29. We invite you to come and visit our parish this summer. Check out our google calendar (with services and parish life events in different colors) here. You can also peruse our “hard copy” June calendar on the right.

  • Here are some of the anticipated highlights in the month of June:
    • June 1 @ 9am: Festal Liturgy for St. Justin Martyr (Breakfast following in hall)
    • June 3 @ 630pm: Festal Vigil for Pentecost with Confessions following
    • June 4 @ 930am: Pentecost Liturgy & Kneeling Vespers (Parish Picnic @ Highbridge following)
    • June 5-9 (9am-12pm): Vacation Church School Program (see Facebook event)
      • Registration for children, pre-K through rising 6th grade here
      • Registration for volunteers (adult and youth) here
    • June 12-28: The Apostles’ Fast
    • June 13 @630pm at Lake Reba in Richmond: St. Nina Mission June gathering (Vespers & Picnic)
    • Every Wednesday: 630pm Vespers
    • Every Wednesday: 720pm Christan Education Classes (see calendar for details)
    • June 29 @ 9am Festal Liturgy for Ss. Peter & Paul with Breakfast in Hall

Here are some photos from the month of May. including scenes from the services of Paschaltide (both at our main parish and at our St. Nina Mission in Madison County,) from various Christian education events, a Baptism, youth activities, picnics, feast days, wedding showers, campus ministry, and much more. Again, we invite you to step into the life of our growing and active Orthodox Christian parish!
