Entry of our Lord into Jerusalem: Palm Sunday
Today’s Readings: Phillipians 4:4-9 John 12:1-18
Bridegroom Matins will be served this Sunday evening at 6pm in Berea. If anyone is interested in going, please see Fr. Justin for directions. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday Bridegroom Matins will be served at St. Athanasius at 6:30pm.
Hours w/Reading of Gospel of St. Mark will be at 9am on Monday and Tuesday. This service last about 2-3 hours. If you are unable to attend, you are encouraged to read the Gospel at home in preparation for Pascha.
Presanctified Liturgy (final for this Lent) will be served at 11am Wednesday. will pray the Prayer of St. Ephrem for the last time this year.
Holy Thursday at 3pm we celebrate a Vesperal Liturgy of the Mystical Supper, where we will commemorate the Last Supper and enter into the eternal mystery of the Eucharist. Following we will share a Lenten meal, and then move into the nave for the Matins with the 12 Passion Gospels at 6:30pm. This 3-hour service is one of the most powerful services in all of Orthodox Holy week.
Holy Friday (strict fasting day) Royal Hours begins at 9am and lasts ~ 1 & 1/2 hours. At 3pm Entombment Vespers is served. This service last about one hour and is especially child friendly. The Funeral Matins for Holy Saturday begins at 6:30pm and is also child friendly, although lasting 2 & 1/2 hours.
