February 18, 2023 Featured

Dear fathers and friends, Christ is in our midst! It was a great joy to welcome so many of you to Kentucky for the 2023 Pastoral Conference. (I am told we had a record crowd for a February Pastoral Conference!) I personally appreciated the kind words many of you had for our efforts to make …

Great Lent: A Season of Invitation

February 17, 2023 Featured

Recording & Resources from Lenten Retreat with Mother Abbess Christophora

April 14, 2021 Featured

The years 2020 and 2021 have presented many challenges to churches around the world. One of the ways it presented an opportunity to our parish was that we had the idea to bring in a real monastic (who otherwise would not be able to join us) to speak to our community virtually. On Saturday, April …

Preparing for Nativity with Sober Joy

November 24, 2020 Featured

A Crisp Autumn & Open Doors

October 2, 2020 Featured

Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year in Kentucky. We rejoice that our parish life is approaching normal, once again. The traumatic challenges of the Covid lockdown, from earlier in the year, seem more and more a part of our past and less a part of our present and future! To …

An Update on our Unusual Lenten Journey

March 31, 2020 Featured

By now, almost all of us have had at least two weeks to process the reality the whole world is facing: nothing in our life is normal now or in the medium term. Sadly, for us Orthodox Christians, this period of time includes the remainder of Great Lent, Holy Week, and the Feast of Feasts …

December 17, 2019 Featured

The Great Feast of the Nativity of our Lord approaches and we ready ourselves for this splendid festival! A number of feasts have marked our journey through the Nativity Fast, thus far–including St. Nicholas Day and St. Herman Day. This past weekend, we welcomed Fr. Silviu Bunta, who led a …

Houseblessing Season 2019

January 9, 2019 Featured

In the month of January, the Orthodox Church observes the Great Feast of Theophany, or Epiphany. One of the special features of Epiphany is the blessing of homes. Because our parishioners in America are often scattered across many counties (rather than residing in one village,) the season often …
