With the celebration of the Feast of our Lord’s Ascension on June 2, the season of Pascha draws to a close. The days of Pentecost are drawing near. (You can see photos from throughout the Paschal season–from May until Ascension–in the gallery below.)
In addition to Pentecost and the Apostles’ Fast, June offers lots of opportunities to engage the life in Christ here at St. Athanasius parish:
- 5-6 beautiful services per week (including special festal Liturgies)
- extra services on Pentecost as well as our annual Pentecost “Tongues-of-Fire” Chili Cookoff
- Wednesday night Christian Education Classes (see calendar for topics)
- mission work at St. Nina in Berea & fundraising effort for Assurance for Life
- our annual summer Parish Picnic at High Bridge Park in Wilmore on June 19
- and our annual Bluegrass Pan-Orthodox Vacation Church School (June 20-24)
